Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to reset my controls and alerts with the upgrade?
Yes. Upon logging into Cards, you will be prompted to review your alert delivery information. The new system is set to alert you of all transactions. To make changes to the types of alerts you would like to receive, click on Controls & Alerts. Click on Alerts to select your preferred alerts. You may also set alerts for specific transactions based on Locations, Merchant Types, Transaction Types and Spend Limits. No changes needed if you would like to receive alerts on every debit card transaction. Under Controls, you may block and limit transactions by various categories.
What card controls are available?
You can turn your card on and off – this is a temporary blocking of the card. When the card is off, no purchases or withdrawals are approved except for previously scheduled recurring payments. You can enable controls to restrict card usage based on location, spend limit, merchant type and transaction type. You can set alerts for each time the card is used. You can also activate your card, set a PIN and manage travel plans.
What are the benefits of setting travel plans? How long can I set a travel plan for?
You can add up to 2 travel plans per card with a maximum of 15 days each. Setting travel plans allows you to reduce chances of a transaction denial when traveling.
When I receive a reissued or replacement card, will I have to update the cards within the application?
No, the card will be automatically updated within Online Banking.
Can multiple cards be linked to one Online Banking account?
Yes, you can access all of your Dime Community Bank debit cards through Online Banking.
I see a transaction I don’t recognize. What should I do?
Access Transaction Details to select a specific transaction and view additional details, such as merchant address and contact information. By selecting Show More, you can view the reason for a transaction denial if looking at a denied transaction. If you still don’t recognize a transaction, you can report your card lost/stolen. A prompt will appear allowing you to turn your card off until you can contact us at 800-321-3463 to permanently close the card and open a dispute if the suspected transaction(s) did not decline.
How do I report my card lost or stolen?
You can select the option to report your card lost or stolen in the Manage Card section. A prompt will appear to confirm and turn off your card to prevent any unauthorized use. You will then be directed to contact us at 800-321-3463 to permanently close the card. Please note, any recurring transactions you establish with a merchant will still be charged to your card until you notify the merchant.
